A new year, a new season of our lives in food.
Yes, we already cook everything we can from scratch.
Yes we use as much whole wheat, raw sugar/honey, natural/organic products as possible.
But this year, we are going to try and venture much further into the world of natural living.
After I clean out my pantry this week, I will head off to the store on Saturday for my once a month shopping.
And as much as possible, or at least as much as I can as I learn, our diets will consist of more fermented foods, more raw farm fresh eggs, more veggies and herbs, more fish (ack), less potatoes, less wheat and a larger variety of grains, less dairy like cheese (Lord help us), even less sugar and sweets (Lord help me), and just an all out more rustic and seasonal diet of our forefathers.
I hope our tastebuds won't go through too much withdrawl of the typical American country kitchen type diet.
It won't be easy.
Anyone have suggestions?
Wish me luck!
I think I'm gonna' need it.

I just found http://www.100daysofrealfood.com/
It's mostly about cutting out highly processed which I know you guys already have.BUT there are lots of good recopied. So far we have tried the granola, whole wheat tortillas (which I made and was so proud..haha), and veggie fajitas (I added some chicken). Really good! We are REALY craving some sweet tea and I was glad hubby and I work at the same place so when they had donughts yesterday we could support each other. Anyway...check out that site and let me know what you think!!
I am trying to do the same thing this year. I am sure that coffee with cream/sugar and chocolate are not on the "healthy" list so I will definitely need help with that! We will be eating more whole grains, raw veggies, fish(definitely not a fave of mine)so the challenge will be not to get bored. I am trying some new recipes this week and if any are successful I will let you know. Have a great week!!
Angela :)
Oh gosh, Holly!! I just came back and looked at my comment...yikes! I got a Kindle Fire for Christmas and the auto correct does funny things :( Please excuse my terrible spelling.
