Funky Monkey Snacks are all-natural real fruit made using a proprietary freeze-drying process that creates Fruit That Crunches!® while retaining fruit's natural goodness. Funky Monkey uses full slices and pieces of real fruits, not the small dices found in other freeze-dried fruit products. Each ounce of Funky Monkey contains three servings of fruit, providing a snack that is delicious, healthy and convenient.
I had heard so many rave reviews of Funky Monkey fruit snacks that I knew for a fact my children would love them.
A healthy snack full of vitamins and a great way to get those extra servings of fruit into my littles.
I was sent a case of Funky Monkey snacks to try, one bag of each of their yummy flavors.
With Applemon, Bananamon, Carnaval Mix, JiveALime, MangoOJ, Pink Pineapple, and Purple Funk, each one is their own unique taste and definitely a treat for your tastbuds.
Here are some additional Funky Monkey highlights:
• Funky Monkey Snacks are all-natural with no added colors, flavors, sugars, or preservatives
• Our special, proprietary manufacturing process provides for a crunchier texture vs. conventional freeze-drying techniques
• We use full slices and pieces (not dices) of delicious, fresh fruit
• Funky Monkey is made at the source in Brazil, using fresh, tropical fruits at the peak of freshness
• Our products are gluten-free, certified Kosher, and certified non-GMO
• One of our 7 flavors, Purple Funk, also includes açai, a berry from the Amazon that is viewed as the newest superfood.
My children and hubby loved these. Especially the Bananamon (banana cinnamon) and Carnaval Mix (mango, papaya, pineapple, and apple). I was hesitant when I first opened the bags...they reminded me of potato chips in crunch and texture, only made out of fruit.
Preferably, I would rather have simple dried fruit that is chewy; because when they say Funky Monkey is fruit that crunches, they mean it! I really is a crispy, dried fruit. Interesting to say the least.
I personally wasn't as thrilled with them as I thought I'd be. Some of the flavors seemed too unusual to my picky tastebuds, because of the crunchy texture...but I did enjoy the JiveALime (pineapple lime). That one was definitely my favorite!
Despite the fact that I didn't like these as much as I hoped (and I really hoped to so I could get more fruit in my diet!), the way my children and husband gobbled down all 7 bags in just three days let's me know that these are definitely a winner for a quick grab and go snack that is full of organic and nutritious goodness.
Funky Monkey Snacks are a bit pricey at some places. But after some shopping around, I found them for $1.79 at my small health food store. For each 1oz bag, that's not quite the best bargain. But for a once-and-awhile snack that's all natural, with no added sweeteners or other junk, they would make a great special treat when out and about!
