These yummy waffles just scream to be made on a chilly winter morning. They would be the perfect special breakfast piled high with homemade whipped cream for a Christmas morning treat!

Oatmeal Waffles

Oatmeal Waffles
3 cups flour
2 cups oats
2 Tbsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
4 eggs
3 cups milk
12 Tbsp melted butter
4 Tbsp brown sugar
Mix dry, mix wet, then mix together. Cook on preheated, greased waffle iron. Cook till lightly golden. Makes about 10 waffles

Apple Cinnamon Topping
3 apples, peeled and diced
1 and 1/2 cups water
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
3 Tbsp cornstarch
Place apples in sauce[an with cinnamon, nutmeg, and 1 cup water. Boil till tender. Whisk together sugar, cornstarch, and 1/ 2 cup water. Add to apples and simmer until thick. Serve over warm waffles or pancakes.
